Si Winton Lou Ynion (Palanca Awardee)
Lady Ochel Espinosa
Jason Alipao
Mark Lester Carnaje
Regie Palmos (TOSP)
Ms. Villa (connected to Panay News and Inquirer; Palanca Awardee)
Prof. Gladys Cordero

Off-topic, but shocking news:

I received a text message yesterday afternoon saying that Wynton Lou Ynion was found dead inside his apartment/condominium unit in Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

According to police investigators, he was four days dead when his body--with several stab wounds--was found inside his bathroom, with hands and feet tied while literally swimming in his own blood.

Initial investigation suggests it is a robbery with murder case, but there is also an angle that a lover might have perpetrated the murder--a seeming trend these days particularly in Metro Manila.  Shocked

I've also received this message but only stated that he is dead. wala lang gin mention ang mga possible death reasons.

grabe ang pag murder ba daw ka dako gid sang sala ni Wynton.

The Ayala Young Leaders Alliance (AYLA) and AYLC Secretariat would like to appeal for help regarding the death of our fellow Ayala Young Leader, Winton Ynion (AYLC 2000 Alumnus) who was found dead this morning in his apartment. Winton has no relatives taking charge of the internment or at least a mass for him.

UPDATE: The remains of Winton Ynion will be at Charity Chapel, St. John Bosco parish, Makati City (beside Walter Mart, Makati). We are in need of food (sandwiches, juice, cup cakes, etc), volunteers, prayer leaders and donors).

For monetary assistance, you can drop by at AYLC Secretariat, 10th floor, BPI Main Building cor Paseo de Roxas, Ayala Makati or deposit at (information withheld – please let me know if you want the account number).

For volunteers please get in touch with Ms. Steffi R. Borromeo (AYLC 2007) – 09275326150 or 752 1065.

Winton Lou Ynion, 19, graduated cum laude from West Visayas State University and was heralded as its most outstanding graduate for the year. He was a U.P. National Writers’ Workshop Fellow for Filipino Poetry in  1999. He has published his stories in FilMag and in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and  is currently pursuing his M.A. in Filipino.

Here is the news article on Winton’s death:

If I am not mistaken, an Iloilo-based group is also planning to host a mass for Winton Ynion in Iloilo City. For more information re: the mass in Iloilo City, email Rhea Peñaflor at ayer428@yahoo.com.

May ara, from CAS (BS Biology) si "Po" forgot his first name. He was the National champion in the PASUC Cultural Festival. Mark Wilfred Popioco (CMC) also was the champion in Extemporaneous Speaking Contest with Erika Demaguila (CAS- AB PolSci) as champion in essay writing during the 10th INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION AND YOUTH AND EDUCATORS SUMMIT for the MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS.

During the 3rd PASUC National Cultural Festival in Bulacan (2007) nagdaug si Po (4th year kami)..3rd year sila.

(2005) lt was hosted West Vi, that's why West Vi was not allowed to join in any contest.

(2009) was hosted by Phil. Normal University, WVSU man ang nag champion, kag 1st runner up sila sa Super Quiz Bowl.

To think contestants sang other schools are law students, West Vi's contestants are all from the undergraduate level, but still WVSU won sa oration and extemporaneous speaking, even essay writing contest. Smiley

I was the delegation head of WVSU during the 4th Visayas Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (of the Order of the Knights of Rizal) Guillier Pindon (AB Pol.Sci) also won in the oration contest.

Out of ten (including me) we were elected as heads of the commissions and 4 of us made it to the Visayas councils. Smiley During that time proud si Dr. Sebastian (OSS Director) because of the citations we had from the 4th Visayas Rizal Youth Leadership Institute.

Marlon Jinon also won in an International essay writing contest.

Sa International Math Challenge consistent man ang West Vi in winning Gold representing the Philippines kada tuig. Ang Training Center for MTP (for math challenge) in region 6 is at WVSU.

Actually whole region (where the host school is located), is not allowed to join sa National PASUC Cultural Festival. 2007  West Vi landed only as 1st runner up. But we could have the championship title if we won in the Ms. PASUC. But all region 6 PASUC are clamoring that time that maybe other regions intended to put our Ms. PASUC contestant in the top 10 only, so that we will just end up as 1st runner in over-all standing because if the Ms. PASUC from region 6 (west vi) reached even 4th runner up according to them, Champion naman ang West Vi. (but that's only the side story of the contest). But I know that in 2009 West Vi got the championship title again. Smiley

I was about to join the Rizal Model Youth Student, but nalipat ko mag pass sa deadline. hahaha.. I was a member of the RYLI core group that spearheaded the Visayas Rizal, (with the Knights of Rizal also). My co-core group member from CNU I think is one of the 10 Rizal model students during our time. I was very busy that time nga nalipat ko mag pass sang requirements. Anyway, we could not have all things in the world at a time man eh. Cheesy Hambal gani sang Prof ko before, We're not the only one created by GOD,  so do not expect to have all these great things to just come to you. hahaha...But the good thing for me even I wasn't able to submit myself for Rizal Model Student, I was qualified in the National Youth Parliament of National Youth Commission..an d at the same time at the Civitas-Asia Project of the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Anyway, @ilonggoako, are you with the USC also? or affiliated in one of the college student councils or publications?
